    Engineered Oak Flooring Install

For this particular flooring job, I was asked to install a floating floor using leftover Engineered Oak floor panels. This was a relatively small job in Stevenage. The room being quite small needed to make sure there was an expansion gap and trim was utilised around the edge as the skirting wasn’t being replaced and cutting under would be almost impossible.

The colour of the oak was a faded natural colour, very understated but ideal and solid enough for an office floor.

As you can see the matched trim brought the floor and skirting together, removing the 10mm expansion gap.

    Internal Oak Cottage-Style Doors

This job involved fitting four oak cottage-style internal doors, each carefully prepared and hung to ensure a consistent and modern finish throughout the property. Three doors were standard sizes, requiring precise trimming, hinge routing and alignment to achieve smooth operation and even gaps to respond to the seasonal movement of the oak doors.

One doorway required a bespoke solution, with a custom-sized door manufactured and fitted to a non-standard opening. This involved radical adjustment the door, ensuring it matched the proportions and aesthetic of the other doors while maintaining proper clearance and functionality.

All doors were fitted with appropriate hardware, aligned for smooth closing, and checked for consistent tolerances. Particular care was taken to preserve the natural grain and finish of the oak, resulting in a cohesive and high-quality installation across all four openings.
